Amnesty for missing library books - 16 February to 31 March 2026

Now is the ideal time to return any overdue books to your local East Sussex library.

Whether it’s a book due back last month, last year or years ago, we will waive any fines associated with an overdue return if you bring the book back to us between Monday 16 February and Tuesday 31 March 2026.

The majority of books borrowed from our libraries do come back but there some popular titles that don’t. Please do have a look for that overdue book you have been meaning to bring back so others can enjoy it.

Books can be returned to any East Sussex library during opening hours. Alternatively, most libraries have drop boxes for out of hours returns.
