Using my account
Library membership is free to anyone who lives, works or studies in East Sussex. You can join online or by visiting any East Sussex Library with a form of identification.
You will need to login to access your personal account details. Once you have logged in, the system will remember you for the duration of your login session. If you attempt to place a reservation, booking or request without being logged in, you will be prompted to enter your Borrower ID and PIN. This identification will last for the duration of the session.
To login:
- Open the Login menu in the navigation panel at the top right-hand side of the screen.
- Enter your borrower ID (the number on your library card) and your PIN.
- Click the Login button.
If your login is successful, your account dashboard will be displayed. You can access your account details at any time during your login session. If you have been debarred from using the library you may be prevented from performing certain transactions such as placing reservations.
These asterisks are used to mask your PIN when it is entered. If you are unable to enter your PIN correctly, please try updating your browser or clearing your browser cache or cookies. The shortcut for doing so may depend on your specific browser, but will likely appear in the Settings menu. Please contact us if you continue to experience this issue.
Please note that Microsoft will no longer support Internet Explorer from June 2022. As such, you may be more likely to experience this issue when using this particular browser.
To protect your privacy, please ensure you logout when you have finished using the system. If you have left your session inactive for more than 20 minutes, the system will timeout your login (you will be given 60 seconds notice).
To logout, select your name in the navigation panel at the top right-hand side of the screen and select Logout. You will be returned to the Library Home Page.
Please use the PIN reset form if you have forgotten your PIN. If you do not have an email address, please visit any East Sussex Library with your library card or a form of identification.

Log into My account and select the Personal details section on the dashboard. This will allow you to view and update your current address and contact details. You can also change your library PIN using this facility.
Library accounts that are not in use are set to expire after 2 years. This is to ensure that customer data is not kept for longer than needed, and to conserve data storage space.
To renew an expired account, log into My account and select the Personal details section on the dashboard. This will allow you to confirm your contact details and renew your account. You will need your library PIN to use this facility. Please use the PIN reset form if you do not have this.
If you are unable to renew your account, please contact us online, call our enquiries line on 0345 60 80 196 or visit any East Sussex Library. You will need to provide your borrower ID (the number on your library card) or a form of identification.
Customer accounts lock automatically when incorrect login details are entered 3 times. This lock is removed after 30 minutes but will activate again should incorrect details continue to be entered.
If you require your account to be unlocked, please contact us online, call our enquiries line on 0345 60 80 196 or visit any East Sussex Library. You will need to provide your borrower ID (the number on your library card) or a form of identification.
You can get a replacement library card at any East Sussex Library. Please ensure that you bring a form of identification when doing so to enable staff to access your account. There is a charge of £2 for replacement library cards attached to Adult accounts.
You can still access services at the library without your card by presenting a form of identification at the desk.
Login to My account and access the Cancel my membership section on the dashboard. Please note that you will be unable to cancel your membership if you have items on loan or charges attached to your account. This facility allows you to review, update and delete the Ratings and Comments records you have created while searching the Library Catalogue. You may delete any of these records, but can only update those which are still to be reviewed by library staff. Once these records have been approved or declined, they may no longer be updated.
To delete a ratings and comment record:
- Login to My account and access the history page.
- Select the link to display your ratings and comments records.
- All of your ratings and comments will be displayed. Click the icon to the right of rating you wish to delete and click Delete review.
To edit a ratings and comment record which is pending review by library staff:
- Login to My account and access the history page.
- Select the link to display your ratings and comments records.
- All of your ratings and comments will be displayed. Click the icon to the right of the rating you wish to delete and click Delete review.
- Make the required changes to the ratings level and your comment, and click Continue.
A savedlist allows you to compile a list of records from the catalogue. Please refer to the My SavedList help page for more information on how to use this facility.
If you are logged into the library catalogue, your savedlists will not be deleted, and will remain until you decide to remove them. Items added to a savedlist when you are not logged in will be kept on the system for two days and automatically cleared after this time.
Alert profiles can be created in My account. They allow you to create a profile that matches your preferences for materials you would like to use. These profiles are scanned overnight and any new works that meet their criteria are highlighted and added.
If any new works are added to your profile as part of the nightly scan, you will be sent an email containing brief bibliographic details for each work, as well as a link to the work. When you receive this email, you can click on the link to go directly to the work and place a reservation if you wish.
