Join local author, Tim Cornish, for a fascinating insight into the High Weald during medieval times; from its landscape, to its economy and local people's way of life. Learn more about how unequal society was, from Lords and Archbishops to serfs, freemen and widows - this was a time that contrasted great poverty with great riches.

This event is free but booking is essential. There's no need to be a library member to take part.

Copies of Tim's book 'Medieval Mayfield: Archbishops and Peasants' will be available for purchase on the day for anyone who might wish to buy.

Review of 'Medieval Mayfield: Archbishops and Peasants':

“This is an engaging authoritative and beautifully illustrated book full of original insights.” (Jason Lavender, Co-Director, High Weald National Landscape.)
