Elsie & Maisie are sisters. One lives in Ireland, the other in America. When a letter arrives from Chicago saying that Maisie's granddaughter is coming over to stay with her Irish family, Elsie must face the truth about what she has told Maisie.

Trouble brews when an old flame of Meany's arrives back in town. She brightens up his lonely life, but if they are every to marry, Meany must loosen his grip on his money. She has great plans for it, but he has some cost-saving plans up his sleeve.
