The libraries are packed with information to help you discover the rich and fascinating history of your local area. As well as all of the books and resources available you can also get support from volunteers to help you.Find out more


Family history research in the library

The library is also the perfect place to start discovering your family history. Free access to Ancestry and Find My Past is available on all library computers. There are resources that you can access from home too, via the Online Reference Library

ID for Voting

If you do not currently have an accepted form of photo ID, you can apply for photo ID to vote (called a ‘Voter Authority Certificate’). To apply you will need:

  • Your registered voting address
  • A recent, digital photo (guidelines for which can be found in the application process)
  • Your National Insurance Number
