This summer join storyteller John Kirk for a live storytelling experience like no other as scavenger hunting collides with folk tales in 30 minutes of fun for the family. John is inviting the audience to be marvellous storytellers as we make up stories in the moment to celebrate the Summer Reading Challenge.

The Summer Reading Challenge is a national annual programme produced by The Reading Agency and delivered in partnership with libraries.

Please sign your child up using their own card. Please do not use an adult membership card. If your child does not have their own card you can join them here or in the library. You can reset their PIN here if you do not know it, or in the library.

This year’s Challenge is all about creativity. From dance to drawing, junk modelling to music, there’s something for everyone! Developed in partnership with Create, a leading charity bringing the creative arts to those who need it most, Marvellous Makers aims to unleash children's creativity through the power of reading.

The Under 4s Summer Reading Challenge is for Children under 3 years of age as rewards in the main Challenge are not suitable for very young children

Claymation! With Press Play Films - Seaford Library

Various libraries this summer

This Summer Holiday have a go at making your very own Claymation film, guided by our experienced friends from Press Play Films. Children and families will get to create animations using clay, set design and stop motion animation.

Suitable for ages 5 + All children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who will need their own ticket for this event due to limited capacity. Contact details for a responsible adult must be given for children 8 + if unaccompanied.

This Summer Holiday join our friends from Education Group to paint your very own ceramic plate! You can bring your design with you or think up something on the day. Will it be inspired by an artist? A picture of you? A favourite pet? You choose!

CSI Tunes! Can you help solve the mystery? - Seaford Library

This summer holiday join our friends from As Creatives to help solve a music industry mystery! Harry Wilson has made more than a few enemies in his time - and now one of them has succeeded in making life difficult for him! This exciting and fast-paced workshop invites children to pit their wits against the criminal by using their data handling and number skills to reveal his - or her - identity.

If you would like to learn how to use a computer – or improve or refresh your computer skills but cannot commit to a formal training course – IT For You could be the answer.

We are offering free 60 minute one-to-one sessions with our volunteers. We can help with email, job searching and applications, CVs, the NHS app, Universal Credit, social media, Microsoft Office and more.
