Thirty-five-year-old thief Ray (Robert Carlyle) has planned a payroll heist with his partner Dave (Ray Winstone) that will set them up for life. However, after executing the robbery with Stevie (Steven Waddington), Julian (Philip Davis) and Jason (Damon Albarn), cracks appear in the team over the division of the money. Ray is also suffering from a crisis of conscience, having realised he has abandoned the political and social beliefs he once shared with his lover (Lena Headey) and is living a lifestyle he always despised.
