'Away' is the story of young Lillian Leyb. Her family murdered in a Russian pogrom, Lillian comes to America alone, determined to make her way. In 1920s New York she is taken under the wing of a famous theatrical impresario, but then she finds out that her daughter, Sophie, may still be alive, and so Lillian sets off to find her.
