In the cold and rainy autumn of 1144, the Abbey of Saints Peter and Paul is visited by two brothers from another Benedictine house – the sub-prior Herluin with his young, musically talented brother Tutilon – and a Provençal troubadour with his servant and a girl with an angelic voice.
