The conquest of Mexico

Thomas, Hugh, 1931-2004
Books, Manuscripts
In 1519, some 500 conquistadors set off from Spain bound for the Aztec empire. When they arrived in the New World, they received a courtly welcome from Montezuma - later, the conquistadors abducted the emperor and destroyed the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan. This is an account of one of the most tragic episodes in world history.
