The text of 'Ulysses' is loosely based upon the Odyssey and deals with events that occurred one day in Dublin in 1904, the anniversary of Joyce's walk with Nora Barnacle. This edition uses Hans Walter's Gabler's revised 1993 version, which attempted to rid the text of any errors and to recover Joyce's original intentions.
